Advocacy and Policy Reform

the Equity alliance

Through The Equity Alliance, we empower communities to take a stand for mental health equity. This program actively engages stakeholders, policymakers, abolition youth councils, community health workers, and grassroots organizations to drive systemic improvements in mental health care and addiction treatment access. By highlighting real stories and data, we advocate for increased funding and policy shifts that prioritize housing equity and community based services designed for us, by us, and what makes sense to us.

Goal:

To influence policies that promote mental health equity, improve addiction treatment systems, and improve the social health determinant factors in Milwaukee.

Youth Empowerment Programs

NextGen Leaders

The NextGen Leaders program equips young individuals with the tools they need to thrive. Through mentorship, skill-building workshops, financial literacy classes, and trauma-informed support, we build a foundation for lifelong success. By intervening early, we help youth avoid the juvenile system and create brighter futures.We equip our youth with understanding the law and knowing how to implement it Workforce Development.

Goal:

To reduce juvenile system involvement by fostering resilience, emotional regulation, and pathways to success for at-risk youth.

Workforce Development in Behavioral Health

Behavioral Health Pipeline

Through the Behavioral Health Pipeline, we provide scholarships, training, and entry-level internships to aspiring mental health professionals from marginalized communities. By addressing financial barriers and creating opportunities for mentorship and hands-on experience, we cultivate a diverse workforce prepared to meet the growing demand for culturally competent care.

Goal:

To diversify the workforce and address behavioral health service shortages by encouraging skill development and career entry for underrepresented professionals.​​

Investing in Our Future

​Mindful Impact Scholarship:

We are proud to offer the Mindful Impact Scholarship, designed to support students enrolled in master’s or doctoral programs in mental health-related fields. This scholarship empowers emerging professionals to advance equity in mental health care and reduce disparities in underserved communities.

​

Eligibility Requirements:

  • Applicants must maintain a GPA of 3.0 or higher.

  • Marginalized identity

  • Low-Income Status- Verified by SAR report send along with essay 

  • Wisconsin Resident

  • Submit a 10 minute video or a 1.5 pg essay: “Your Vision for Advancing Equity in Mental Health Care.” 

  • Preference is given to applicants with experience in community mental health outreach.

  • Application deadline: August 10, 2025 (for the Fall semester).

Elevating Leaders, Empowering Change

Rise and Lead Institute

Rise & Lead Academy is a premier leadership development program designed to equip professionals with the skills, knowledge, and confidence needed to drive meaningful change in their organizations and communities. This academy offers Continuing Education Units (CEUs), ensuring that participants not only grow as leaders but also maintain their professional credentials.​
